About the Programme
The Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (PB B.Sc. Nursing) is a two-year undergraduate programme designed for registered nurses (GNM diploma holders) who wish to upgrade their education and professional skills. Recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the programme builds on existing clinical experience and equips nurses with advanced knowledge, leadership abilities, and eligibility for higher studies.
This programme prepares graduates to take on senior clinical roles, teaching positions, administrative responsibilities, and global career opportunities in healthcare.
Duration
Course Length: 2 years
Weekly Hours: 40 hours (theory, labs, clinical training)
Internship: Integrated in the final semester through hospital and community postings
Eligibility
Education:
Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) from an INC-recognized institution
10+2 pass (any stream) is required, or equivalent qualification recognized by the university
Registration: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN/RM) with the State Nursing Council
Medical Fitness: Candidate must be medically fit
Reservation: As per government norms

Examination & Evaluation

University Examination: 75% (theory & practicals)
Passing Criteria:
Minimum 50% in theory & practicals separately
75% attendance in theory and 100% in clinical training required
