About the Programme
The Master of Science in Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing) is a two-year postgraduate programme recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and State Nursing Council. It is designed to prepare graduate nurses for advanced clinical practice, teaching, administration, and research.
The programme focuses on developing specialized nursing professionals who can take up leadership roles in healthcare, contribute to nursing education, and engage in evidence-based research to improve patient outcomes and healthcare systems.
Duration
Course Length: 2 years (4 semesters)
Weekly Hours: 40 hours (theory, practical, research, clinical training)
Internship/Dissertation: Integrated as part of the programme
Eligibility
Education:
B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum 55% aggregate marks
Registration: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN/RM) with the State Nursing Council
Experience: Minimum 1 year of work experience after B.Sc. Nursing / PB B.Sc. Nursing
Medical Fitness: Must be certified medically fit
Reservation: As per government norms

Internal Assessment: 25% (seminars, presentations, clinical work, assignments)
University Examination: 75% (theory & practicals)
Dissertation Viva-Voce: Compulsory evaluation in final semester
Passing Criteria: Minimum 50% in theory, practicals, and dissertation separately
